Dylan

Hi Sarah and Ross
I hope you and the animals are well.
Just a quick note to update you on Dylan, he is an absolute dream and we love him! The first couple of days he was a nit nervous and obsessed with food, to the point he would bolt it down in one go and then was sick! He is much calmer now and we brought him a special food bowl which has humps in it to slow him down. He is also rather partial to apples and although we have picked every one of them from the trees he still manages to find them from them in the hedges!
We took them both for a long walk on Sandbanks beach last weekend and discovered he loves to swim.
He had another check up at the vet last week and all his lumps and bumps have all healed up nicely and he is now the weight he should be at 32kg,
I think that’s it for now except to say thank you for rescuing him and for allowing us to be his new “parents” He has brought us such joy and love and is now very much one of the family as you will see from the photos.
Love and best wishes Nicolette, Richard, Kindi and Dylan

Daisey

Awaiting Picture

Daisey is a 1 year old Jack Russell cross female. Daisey came in to the rescue as a un-claimed stray, Daisey is brilliant with other dogs, great on the lead, great with cats, ok with kids however we would not recommend her to go with children under 12 years old as we do not know her history. Daisey is good to be left for up to 4 hours, however she does have to be left in a crate (of which she does not mind, as long as she has a good chew and a bit of water) as left to her own devices she will chew the odd random objects left around (she likes to steal things out of bags!) Daisey has always been clean in the house, however she went on a home trial recently and came back as she was messing in the house, we are not sure if this was due to her not being the right match for the house, however since she has been back she has been clean, we find a good routine works with this little girl, when she has breakfast she goes back in to her crate for 45 mins and then out to the toilet and she will go straight away, also being a teen we feel if someone is soft on her she will become a bit of a Diva!
Daisey would suit a active home, who will be firm and fair with her, but also have a lot of fun with her.
Daisey is fully vaccinated, Micro Chipped and Spayed, if you feel you could offer Daisey a home call 02380 893188 or e-mail info@allanimalrescue.co.uk

Scamps

Scamps is a 6 month old tabby and white male. Scamps came in to the rescue with his brother and sister as they had been abandoned in a house, he was very nervous and under weight when he came in. Scamps is independant and adventurous. he enjoys being stroked and loves the outdoors but doesnt go far and comes back every time. he is getting better at being picked up but still needs some work. he loves his food. he can be vocal at times and he gets on well with dogs.
Scamps is fully vaccinated, neutered and micro chipped. If you feel you could offer Scamps a home call 02380 893188 or e-mail info@allanimalrescue.co.uk

Maddy

Dear Sarah

How are you? I don’t know if you and Ross even remember a little mistreated
tortoiseshell cat called Maddy that you kept in your yard for a while last
summer? the one whose owner said she was aggressive and a horrible cat? I
thought that if so, you might like to hear an update, which is that she has
become more and more relaxed, goes up to everyone and tries to sit on
people’s knee, and never bites or scratches me any more (she does other
people occasionally if they don’t get her “stop that” signals). I’ve just
learned what she does and doesn’t like, eg she hates to be touched when
she’s sitting or lying on her front. But when she comes and lies on your
feet with her belly in the air, it means that she wants affection, and she
will let me stroke her back, sides and belly! Her jumping out with claws is
either playful or to get attention, and she’s learned not to do it with me
any more – or only with claws in – because I watched her at the times she
used to do it and told her not to. She’ll come to me from five roof-tops
away when I call and rub herself on my feet, lying on her back, purring so
loudly that it sounds as though she’s choking! It was just a question of
getting to know her and what annoys or scares her. She’s so much less jumpy,
and I love watching her outside because she looks happy! She comes and goes
across the rooftops and gardens, watches birds, lies in the sun – I see her
heading off on her favourite trails, and it looks as though she has a life
of her own that she’s made, and feels happy and secure. She’s an amazing
cat. Thank you again for looking after her so well – and for taking her back
for a while when my Dad was ill (he’s doing ok – very very tired now but
still in his own home).

I hope you’re well and happy too. You do such important work.

All the best

Noir now Tally

Posted September 16th, 2011 by sarah

Hi Sarah, just a quick shot of Noir (now known as Tally). She is settling in really well and we haven’t had any problems with her. Murphy was abit unsure at first but now they tolerate eachother. Not quite the best of friends yet but they sniff eachother and Murphy is always very nosy as to what she’s up to. There are lots of hiding places for her here so he’s always wandering round the house trying to find her :)

Sky

Hi Sarah

In all the excitement I completely forgot to send you the pictures. Skye has literally slotted in and her only fault is that she wants to bolt off so we keep her on an extendable lead all the time. It will, we think, take her some time to teach her to stay near. But with time and patience we will help her sort her wandering off out.

She is adorable and has certainly been well loved in the past. We are in no doubt that she will have run off after something and got lost. If only she had been chipped!

We look forward to seeing you on the 15th. Again very many thanks.

Hello all. This is Phil and Sam just giving you a quick update on Betty, the collie cross alsatian (we think, not sure). We`ve had her 3 weeks now and she`s settling in really well. She was a bit wary of strangers to start with but as her confidence grows she is more relaxed and less wary when meeting people for the first time, although she can be a bit choosy of who she wants to be friends with. She is very curious about new things (read nosey) especially children, and is very good when playing with younger dogs and puppies. As she`s become more settled her walks have become easier as we`ve got to know each others ways. Her recall is very good and she`ll come when called normally, but if she sees something new she has to investigate first before she comes running back. Other dogs out walking are a magnet to her and she has to say hello and have a good sniff and play, but she always comes when called after a bit of fun first. She is a very intuitive dog and very switched on, she loves a good romp and will play ball all day if we let her. She is quite strong willed as well but that`s not a problem as we are quite firm with the boundaries ans she does get told off if she steps out of line. She does try and push the boundaries now and again but we dont let her have too much slack as she`s far too intelligent. We would like to thank Terry and Karen Curtiss for their help and the time they gave to her as she`s turned into a very happy contented dog.

Wishing you All The Best

A happy ending

Flower had been stolen from her garden in January this year, her distraught owner spent months looking for her with no joy, she had almost given up hope when her friend spotted her on our rescue website, poor Flower had been stolen to order, been bred from several times and then discarded on to the streets, she was then picked up and put in to the pound she served her 7 days and was going to be put to sleep as she was not claimed, which is where we came in, as a rescue we offered her a space and was in the process of fattening her up and getting her healthy ready for re-homing when we had a very excited call from her owner, we were delighted to be able to re-unite the two.
One of the biggest lesson everyone learnt here was the importance of micro chipping, if Flower had been micro chipped we could have re-united them back alot quicker, micro chips range from £10-£25 and they are well worth it if you animal is involved in a accident, gets stolen or goes missing this little impant can be a life saver. Safe to say the lovely Flower is now micro chipped although I don’t think she will be aloud out of mum’s sight for a while.

Harry & Ron

Posted July 30th, 2011 by sarah

Harry & Ron are a lively pair of male guinea pigs, both about 4 months old and have lived together since they were very young. When they get to know you they will come to call, especially if there’s tasty greens involved! While they’re currently kept indoors, as you can see from the pictures: they enjoy regular time in an outside run, mowing the lawn!

If you think you can give this pair a loving home, please email us at info@allanimalrescue.co.uk or give us a call on 02380893188.
