A Short video of the beautiful Vinyl and Vixen

Vinyl and Vixen are two 9 month old female domestic shorthair kittens. Vinyl and Vixen have had a bit of a unsettled start to life. Their original owner left her partner and left them with him, all was well until his new partner came along with children who are allergic to cats! They were so allergic that there was no option other than to re-home them.

These two have always lived together as indoor house cats and seem to be very comfortable with this set up. Vixen is very shy until she get’s to know you and then is very affectionate and loves her cuddles. Vinyl is a fun outgoing character who loves to have a cuddle for 5 minutes and then really wants to play play play!

These two have never lived with dogs and Vixen struggled with the children she lived with for a short period of time, also because they are solely house cats not to go outside, we would recommend that these be the only cats in the house hold.

Vixen and Vinyl will be fully vaccinated, micro chipped, neutered, up to date with all flea treatment and wormer and come with 5 weeks free insurance. If you feel you could offer Vixen and Vinyl a home either call 02380 893188 or e-mail [email protected]

Jim – Reserved

September 27th, 2017

Jim is a 12 week old black and white, domestic shorthair neutered male kitten. Jim came in to the rescue with his sister Rosie, their mum had been left behind when her owners moved and were born in to an empty house. They were found when they were six weeks old. So although they are not feral, they have had very little human contact and are very nervous.

Sadly when they arrived they were diagnosed with a parasite called Giardia, this is very simple to treat with treatment once a day for 5 days. However as you can imagine for kittens that have not been handled by humans to have a change of environment and then a strange lady grabbing you every morning and shoving a disgusting liquid in your mouth, their introduction to humans was not great!!

Well as you can see from the Videos above and below they are coming along nicely and starting to realise that humans are not that bad after all! Jim is the shyest of the two and will require a really steady and understanding home,  they are both very much going to be one person kittens, for someone who wants a project and has the time  and patience to show them how wonderful human interaction can be.

Rosie – Reserved

Rosie is a 12 week old black and white, domestic shorthair neutered female kitten. Rosie came in to the rescue with her brother Jim, their mum had been left behind when her owners moved and were born in to an empty house. They were found when they were six weeks old. So although they are not feral, they have had very little human contact and are very nervous.

Sadly when they arrived they were diagnosed with a parasite called Giardia, this is very simple to treat with treatment once a day for 5 days. Well as you can see from the Videos above and below they are coming along nicely and starting to realise that humans are not that bad after all! Rosie is the more confident out of the two, but they are both very much going to be one person kittens, for someone who wants a project and has the time  and patience to show them how wonderful human interaction can be.

Mr Bojangles

September 18th, 2017

Mr Bojangles is a 14 (ish) year old neutered male ginger and white domestic shorthair cat. Mr. Bojangles was found as a stray by a lovely old lady in her garden. He was very thin, dirty and just very unloved. It was clear that at some point in his past he had been looked after as he is just so friendly and he had been castrated. His finder started her search for his owner, but after two months of searching with no owner coming forward and no pets allowed in her property, she needed a more permanent solution for this lovely old boy and that is where we stepped in to offer him a space in our rescue.

Mr Bojangles is in the very early stages of renal failure. (renal failure is diagnosed by a blood test, when measuring the renal function you are given a normal range for example between 1 and 100 is normal, Mr Bojangles was 102 so literally in the very early stages)
This lovely little old man requires no medication at present, just monitoring and a 6 monthly check up with a vet. If you wanted to go down the gold standard care route you could start him on a renal function diet, which will just support his body and give him everything he needs. Mr Bojangles also suffers with mild arthritis in his hips, which just requires monitoring, the odd dose of anti inflammatory and we have started him on a supplement called yumove which goes in his food and is just a standard oap joint supplement. All though this sounds like a lot of health care, for an old boy who has clearly lived a rough life, he is doing pretty well.
This lovely old man just wants a warm bed and a human with a warm lap and who will give him a good chin scratch! He does not like dogs, he is not bothered by other cats (as long as they leave him alone) and he is not keen on noisy children.

Mr Bojangles is fully vaccinated, micro chipped, neutered, up to date with all flea treatment and worm and comes with 5 weeks free insurance. If you feel you could offer Mr Bojangles a home either call 02380 893188 or e-mail [email protected]

Kiki – Reserved

July 16th, 2017

Updated 10.08.17 – We have been doing a lot of work with Kiki since she came in, most of it was lack of trust in humans. Well what a difference a couple of weeks make! Kiki is now excepting of other cats, she is much better being the lower ranking cat and is very submissive to our dominant female! The best success we have had, is she is now showing affection to men, she was so scared of men when she first arrived! She spent the evening curled up on Ross’s lap last night purring away!
Finally she is now tolerating dogs, she has learnt that she is the boss of the dogs and that she has total control.I still think Kiki would suit an adult only home, with a couple who are willing to win her trust, but my oh my when you win it she is the most amazing cat you will ever own!

Kiki is a 18 month old neutered black female cat. Kiki came in to the rescue after being found as a pregnant stray. Her finder managed to find a home for all of the kittens but was unable to find a home for Kiki.

Kiki is fine with dogs that are good with cats and are calm, she is not great with other cats so would be better as an only cat. Kiki has obviously had a difficult start in life and can be a little nervous with new people, however she is fine once she gets used to you. However because of this we would not recommend her to go with children under the age of 16.

Kiki is fully vaccinated, micro chipped, neutered, up to date with all flea treatment and wormer and comes with 5 weeks free insurance. If you feel you could offer Kiki a home, either call 02380 893188 or e-mail [email protected]

Sorry, we don’t have any cats up for adoption at the moment, but we may be able to find one for you or point you towards another rescue.

Please feel free to contact us and we will try our best to help you out!
