Gary – Has now landed himself the most amazing new home in Jersey!! He is on lucky boy

Gary is a neutered male, 2 year old German Shepherd, hound, husky mix.
Gary came in to the rescue as his new owners were unable to meet his needs due to health and mobility issues. The took him on from an owner that was not looking after him properly, so this poor lad has had such an unsettled start.

Gary is a gorgeous oaf! He has not got a malice bone in his body, he is still very much a puppy in nature and will require further obedience training in his new home, especially his recall, which is fantastic until he see’s a dog he wants to play with and then he goes completely deaf!
Gary is good with horses, dogs, cats, goats and although 90% of the time he ignores the sheep, he will join in if someone else starts chasing them. Gary would be fine to go with children over the age of 10. This big boy would be fine as an only dog, or would happily live with another, he is good to be left for up to 4 hours and the only destruction you will return to is a completely empty dog toy box and a sea of toys across the floor!
When Gary came in to the rescue he was incredibly car sick and would be sick before we reached the end of the road. This has improved dramatically and he now just drools a lot and as long as he has not eaten recently he has managed to go 16 miles without being sick.
This lovely lad is definitely a dog who needs a walk everyday, who loves a routine and leans more towards being a mans dog, a good hour is great for him, however he is always happy to go further! He is super ball and toy orientated so would be fantastic at agility and fly ball and I think he would make a good canicross partner!
Gary is a big boy and we expect when filled out to be around 40kg, however he is tall and long, so any new potential owner will have to bear this in mind, I have a Peugeot 3008 and he only just fits in the boot. For a big boy he walks beautifully on the lead and is not a puller.

The rough monthly costs of owning Gary are as follows:

Insurance: £50 a month
Vet plan, for vaccines, flea and worm treatment: £22.99
Food: £70
Rough monthly total costs: £142.99 ( Bear in mind, the cost of toys and training will be extra)

Gary would be an asset to any home. Gary is fully vaccinated, microchipped, neutered, up to date with all flea and worm treatment and comes with 5 weeks free insurance. If you feel you could offer Gary a home email [email protected]
