🐾 Bella is Looking for Her Forever Home 🐾
Bella’s journey to the rescue has been a long one, but now she’s ready to find the loving home she truly deserves.
About 18 months ago, Bella began turning up at the home of an elderly gentleman and eventually decided his garden was a good place to stay. When she first appeared she was very spicy and he believed she might be feral. Concerned that she might become pregnant, he contacted several organisations to try to have her safely caught and checked, but Bella proved far too clever and managed to evade capture every time.
As time passed and Bella never had kittens, it was assumed she had already been spayed. The gentleman then began patiently building trust with her, hoping that one day he might get close enough to scan her for a microchip. Sadly, just as his hard work and kindness were beginning to pay off, his health declined and he passed away.
Thanks to the trust he had built with her, family members were able to catch Bella and bring her into the rescue. On arrival we discovered Bella was microchipped, but the registered address was on the other side of Southampton. We attempted to contact the registered owners using the details on the chip but received no response. Not wanting to give up, we continued investigating and eventually traced the family to a temporary address in our area. Neighbours confirmed they had moved in with two cats and sadly left them behind when they moved away.
Bella completed her 14 day hold period with no contact from her previous owners, so she is now officially available for adoption.

Bella is a funny little character. She will often hiss while rubbing around your legs! At first we thought she might still be a bit spicy, but it seems the hiss doesn’t actually mean anything at all. She was an absolute poppet at the vets, behaving beautifully for her vaccination, health check and blood test. Other than being a little overweight, Bella has been given a full bill of health.
While in foster care Bella has taken to indoor life like a duck to water, so we feel she would be happiest as a house cat. She would suit a calm household with no children and no other pets, and will need an owner who is happy to let her settle at her own pace and appreciate her quirky little personality.
💰 Estimated Monthly Costs
- Insurance: £25
- Food: £60
- Vaccines (averaged monthly): £5
- Litter: £5
Approximate monthly total: £95
As Bella will be a house cat we do not advise routine monthly flea and worming treatment. However, it’s important to remember fleas can still be brought into the home from visiting other houses with pets, so a vet visit may occasionally be needed. We do insist on annual vaccinations, as diseases can also be carried into the home and many insurance companies will not pay out if vaccinations are not kept up to date.
