Mischievous Mabel – Has now found a fabulous new home in Southampton.

Mabel is a 18 month old, neutered female black and white terrier cross. Mabel came in to the rescue with her mum, after being left behind after a gypsy camp left the area.

Both had obviously been used for breeding and Mabel came in with a life threatening condition called a pyometra, a pyometra is a womb infection and if left untreated will cause death.

As you can see little Mabel made it through the surgery and has gone from strength to strength. Sadly having lived her whole life in a kennel, Mabel had no training, so once she had recovered from her surgery that all started.

Mabel has well and truly come out of her shell!! She is a real character, toilet training has been a bit of a mission as she is a bit of air head and is very easily distracted, also having no concept of it being naughty to go to the toilet in the house, it took a while for this to sink in!! lol
I am pleased to say we are 95% of the way there, she is now crate training which is a huge help with toilet training.
Mabel needs a home that is going to be happy to continue her training, at the moment she is so excited by any form of attention and the fact that she is a bit of an air head, makes trying to teach her a basic sit is a hilarious fail!!lol
Mabel has a wonderful nature, she is great with children, fab with other dogs, good with cats, great with chickens, respects horses, cows, sheep and donkey’s, she would suit a family with another dog, she is a mischief maker and wants to be in the thick of whatever is going on.
She is good to be left (in her crate) for up to three hours max as she is still learning to hold her wee. Mabel is great off the lead and still learning to walk sensibly on the lead (she uses you as a maypole and has no concept of staying on one side!!) We have started doing agility with Mabel and she loves it!! So this could definitely be continued with her new family.
