Archie is another case that came to me in January through the vets. His breeder called up to tell us the person she had sold him to was sending him back as he was deaf and blind and so as she only has working dogs the best option was to put him to sleep. Obviously I couldn’t see a 10 week old puppy euthanised when he could still live a happy life if you learn to adapt to his disabilities so I told her I would take him. When I went to collect him I couldn’t see anything wrong and when the vet examined him 2 days later he could see and hear perfectly and other than a terrible ear infection in both ears was perfectly healthy, so I got lucky with him.
