Kaos is a 5 month old tabby and white domestic shorthair, neutered male. Kaos came in to the rescue after being found in quite a state, his eye was heavily swollen and very painful and infected.
Unfortunately as with most cats in the U.K Kaos has the feline Herpes virus (For further reading on Feline HPV follow this link https://icatcare.org/advice/feline-herpesvirus-fhv-infection/ ) This is what caused his eye to be so painful and swollen. This is was super difficult to treat as it had been left so long and allowed to get so bad, however as with cold sores if you treat them quickly it usually resolves very quickly, also like with the human Herpes Virus they can return if you are run down or stressed. So although his eye is now fine, this could reoccur in the future. Thankfully this is not expensive to treat and there are now insurance companies that will take on pre existing conditions.
Kaos is as his name states!! he is full of beans and in to everything 24/7, he would suit an active household that are around a lot to play with him. He is fine with dogs that are used to cats, however due to his condition he would have to be an only cat (This is because sharing a home with another cat, can cause stress and we need to avoid this). This little man would be good with children over the age of 7, we have put this age in place as Kaos loves to play a lot! But once wound up he can forget himself and give the odd nip and scratch (only in play, but it still hurts) If he was to live with a child they would have to know when to back away and let him calm down before playing with him again.
When he has eventually finished playing, he loves nothing more than a cuddle, he has the loudest purr and will lie like a baby.
