Lily is a 9-year-old neutered domestic longhaired female who’s been through quite the journey and is now ready to find her forever home.
💜 Lily’s Story
Lily came into our care in August 2024 after her previous owner sadly had to surrender her due to both Lily’s allergies and her partner’s cat allergy. When Lily arrived, she was in considerable discomfort—her allergies affected the skin around her eyes and inner thighs, and her eyes were especially painful.
🩺 Medical Journey
Our vets immediately began working on Lily’s case, but she proved to be a tricky one! After several trials and visits, she was referred to a dermatologist, who diagnosed her with Malassezia—a yeast condition more common in dogs than cats. Thankfully, after a dedicated course of treatment, Lily has been flare-free for over 4 months.
Lily now thrives on a specialist diet that helps manage her condition.
She recently saw an ophthalmologist due to a persistent crusty patch under one eye. This led to emergency surgery to unblock a tear duct. Unfortunately, her tear ducts on the right side are permanently scarred from years of untreated allergies. The area will always look a bit crusty, but this is purely cosmetic and not painful. We simply apply a tiny bit of Sudocrem when cleaning it.
🏡 Ideal Home
After over a year of care, Lily is now healthy, stable, and ready for adoption!
She’ll need an understanding, patient home that will give her time to rebuild trust—some treatments she endured were very painful, so she can be cautious at first.
- Lily must remain a house cat due to her allergies.
- She does not like dogs or other cats, so she’ll need to be the only pet.
- Once she trusts you, she’s affectionate, loyal, and full of personality.
