Meet Mr Pig – Our Chief Greeter and Peacekeeper!
Mr Pig came into the rescue in August 2022 after his owner sadly developed an allergy to him. Although he was only a couple of months old, it quickly became clear that Mr Pig absolutely hated being handled.
We spent over six months trying to show him that being picked up wasn’t so bad—but Mr Pig made up his mind! Finding a home for a guinea pig who doesn’t enjoy handling was always going to be a challenge, so we decided that he would stay here with us permanently.
It was almost as if he knew he’d found his forever home, because from that moment on, Mr Pig became a very important member of our little family. He’s now our chief meet-and-greet officer, welcoming every new arrival at the rescue. And when the occasional scuffle breaks out, he steps in like a cross between a bouncer and the United Nations—calming everyone down and helping the group get along again.
Mr Pig truly is part of the team, and we couldn’t imagine the rescue without him.
