Oreo is a 20-month-old black and white Domestic Shorthair, looking for a calm, understanding home where he can finally relax and be himself.
Oreo came into the care of All Animal Rescue after his owner sadly had to move into rented accommodation that didn’t allow pets. However, it had become increasingly clear that Oreo was struggling in a busy household with young children, often choosing to run away and hide when things became too much for him.
Although he is very shy when meeting new people, Oreo has a wonderfully gentle nature. Once he begins to trust you, he absolutely loves a chin scratch and enjoys quiet companionship. He’s the kind of cat who will reward patience with a loyal friendship.
Oreo has had a difficult time with other cats in the past, having been repeatedly bullied by local cats before coming into rescue. We also found he became quite anxious when we tried introducing him to other cats, so we feel he would be happiest as the only cat in his new home.
He has always enjoyed access to the outdoors and would love a home where, once settled, he can safely explore outside again.

Even though Oreo enjoys going outdoors, we always recommend keeping an indoor litter tray available. Going to the toilet is a particularly vulnerable time for cats, and having a safe indoor option can make a huge difference to the confidence of a nervous cat.
